Dr. John R. Spellman, M.D. is a graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University and Rush University Medical College in Chicago, IL. He completed his Orthopedic Surgery training as Chief Administrative Resident at Stony Brook University Medical Center in NY. Dr. Spellman then completed an Orthopedic Sports Medicine Fellowship at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, working closely with and caring for Division I student-athletes. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery, Arthroscopy Association of North America, and The American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine.

Dr. Spellman is originally from Chicago, IL and is a proud new member of Moore Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. He looks forward to serving the community in their health and sporting needs. Dr. Spellman is committed to strong doctor-patient communication, listening to his patients, and individualizing care based on each patient’s needs. He is married to Brittany Spellman and they have 3 wonderful children – Ellie, Judah, and Noah. His family participates in multiple sports, enjoys outdoor activities, and loves spending days together playing in the ocean. They look forward to making a strong connection to the area and community.
