Specialty
Dr. Will Ramsey specializes in adult orthopedic reconstructive surgery with expertise in hip, knees, and shoulder preservation, as well as partial and total joint replacement and complex revision surgery. His experience includes rapid recovery and outpatient techniques. He takes a minimally invasive direct anterior approach for total hip replacements, which allows for a faster recovery by sparing muscle.
A graduate of North Carolina State University, Dr. Ramsey double majored in Biology and Biochemistry. He continued his education, earning a Masters in Physiology from NCSU while working at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences and volunteering as an EMT. With a passion for patient care, he went on to pursue his medical degree at the Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, VA, graduating with honors.
For specialty training and education, Dr. Ramsey traveled farther north. He completed his specialty in orthopedic surgery at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He also underwent subspecialty training in total joint reconstruction with Dr. Randall Peyton of Arthritis and Sports Orthopedics in Northern Virginia.
A successful career has led Dr. Ramsey to become a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics, and the American Osteopathic Association.
Dr. Ramsey is a Jacksonville, NC, native, and he is glad to return home to provide orthopedic care to his community. When not at work, he likes spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, surfing, and traveling.
